What is SkillsUSA? SkillsUSA is a student organization that comes together to ensure students learn about the workforce. SkillsUSA is a national organization to help students excel in CTE skills. More than 300,000 students and advisors join SkillsUSA annually. SkillsUSA is a great opportunity to develop skills for after high school. Whether it be going into the workforce right after graduation, or going to a university, SkillsUSA is very beneficial to every student. SkillsUSA is for students in middle, high school, and college across the nation. While each group is ultimately on the same work-force ready program, each group does their club a little differently. Here at Green Valley High School, SkillsUSA is open to anyone who would like to join. If you are taking a CTE Elective Class we highly encourage you to join and grow your skills but you don’t have to be in a CTE Course to join. Our SkillsUSA team is very successful and we have an upstanding reputation to uphold. GVTV won gold in the state of Nevada and bronze in the country for Video News Production. Our chapter also won gold in the country for Cabinetmaking & bronze for Television Video Production and we hope to win more in the future. Come join us!
