CCSD wants your input!
The Clark County School district wants your opinion on whether to change the school start time to 30Minutes later. In the CCSD most high schools start as early as 7:00am, and middle schools starting at 8:00am, and elementary schools at 9:00am. If this is passed these times would shift to 7:30am for high schoolers, 8:30am for middle schoolers, and 9:30am for elementary schoolers. The CCSD has created a survey for students, staff, parents/guardians to do, to provide input on their opinion whether this is something they want or not.

The survey includes a questions of the following, work arrangements, childcare, possible transportation issues, and potential personal/family schedule issues.
It has been scientifically proven that teens perform better when provided with more time to sleep. Attendance is better, academic progress is better, and it improves student health. On the other hand CCSD is well aware it can affect personal life as well. This is why public opinion is of upmost importance.
