GVHS HOPE Squad is excited to announce that we are looking for new members for the 2025-26 school year! We will meet on Thursdays after school.
HOPE Squad is a group of students who are nominated by themselves or peers who work closely with the SEL school counselor. Their goal is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma, and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide. Students are trained on how to look for warning signs in their peers and provide support by being a listening ear. The goal is to try to talk their peers into speaking with a trusted adult. The program’s mission is to reduce youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention.
Annual events include:
- First Friday Booth – Selling food items during First Fridays.
- Fill Our Gate With Ribbon – showing off their spirit here at GVHS! Please help fill our front gate with ribbon ties to show that we support suicide prevention.
