The National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) is an in-school program aimed at improving educational performance among students in grades 4 – 12. Students learn focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and the life lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life.
Yesterday, your Green Valley Archery Team helped kick off the Las Vegas Shoot. The National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) hosted the 14th annual NASP State Tournament at the South Point Arena as a prelude to the world’s largest indoor archery tournament. Over 700 students from Nevada gathered to shoot. Green Valley was lucky enough to send 17 archers to the competition. These talented athletes represented Green Valley with pride. Special mention goes out to our top 3 archers: Senior Qizhi (Kevin) Ge shot a 248/300 with 6 perfect 10s and ranked 7th out of all senior boys. Junior Joseph Blovsky scored a 246/300 with 5 perfect 10s, placing him in 10th for the junior boys overall and Freshman Quinn Kocinski shot a 244/300 with a whooping 7 perfect 10s! She was ranked 6th for freshman girls. If you see any of these students, please offer them congratulations.
Archery will continue to meet on Thursday afternoon in room 207 immediately after school. If you are interested in joining, please stop by Room 207 to obtain a permission slip from Ms. Kocinski.
