Speech and Debate Results

The Green Valley Debate team has just came back from their State Championships at the new NECTA campus. The students had a fabulous tournament. Schools from all over the state gathered at the tournament.

Here is how they did:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate:

Will Fronk (9th place)

         Kira Hopkins and King (Semifinalist)

         Lainey Michaelson (Semifinalist)

POI:

         Pierce Roderick (6th place)

Scarlet Nielsen and Lexi Coleman (2nd place)

The State Tournament is a little different in the sense that each event has a “Sweepstakes Bowl” attached to it.  The event bowls are awarded to the school with the most accumulated points during the duration of the tournament.  Green Valley won the Duo Bowl (2nd year in a row!) and won the Informative Bowl. 

Great job by our students.  Please, congratulate them on a job well done.

 This national qualifying tournament concludes their season.  Next week, Rancho HS will host the second leg of the Golden Desert Districts National Qualifier.
