GV State Speech and Debate Results

Speech and Debate has had the first of three culminating tournaments that we have. The Nevada State Championships was hosted by Damonte Ranch H.S. in Reno this year. These rankings represent how our students did against the best of the best that the state of Nevada has to offer.

Here is how they did:

Lainey Michaelson: Informative Speaking-4th Place

Zayden Vicente: Humor-5th Place

Amy Liu: International Extemporaneous Speaking-3rd Place

Lainey and Liv Michaelson: Duo-1st Place STATE CHAMPS!! (1st Duo state champs since 2016)

The second part of the state championships, the debate portion, has been postponed until April. The next tournament will be our District Tournament. This is their national qualifying tournament which is separated into two weekends.
